Unit 13 Website Development-Assignment 01



Explain the uses of two websites and think about the target audience for the website.

Amazon

The intended uses of amazons website is to sell products online and that is called E-commerce  , but company sell their products on amazon and then will amazon pay the company for the products. The website is dynamic as it is interactive. The website is aimed at 16 and over. The features of amazon are they have links and to help navigate customers around the website quickly and easily by using hotspots and hyperlinks. Amazon also have a dynamic website as it interactive for the customers allowing engage and also amazon have image to show what products they are selling and to improve the look of there website. The color of the website is white, dark blue and orange which keeps it simple and dark too.


M1


It meets the users experience as the website is neatly laid out and good to understand, it is filled with mainly using pictures and slide showing pictures on the homepage to attract customers to click on hyperlinks. Also amazon's accessibility is good too use as hotspots and links which will help customers to easily navigate their way through the website, it has medium text so then the elderly people can see what they are buying. They allow customers to have an accounts to they can watch how their order is getting and how far away is it, customers can use prime, so they can pay a bit more on their product to get it the next day. They have information about them and their website and they have contact us so they are allowing customers to contact if they need help or they go a problem.

Strengths
  • They have links and search bar for customers to find what they want.
  • Colorful on the logo because that will attract more customers to buy products for season holiday.
  • It is profitable because more people buy products of it.
  • They have navigation to allow their customers to easily navigate themselves through their website.
Weaknesses
  • It is very plain because after the Homepage it is all just blue and white inc, what some people like and most don't like.
  • You only can scroll down because they can fit more on to the page.
  • Selective audience as people younger than 14 who don't have a bank card cannot purchase anything.
  • It could have some animation to make it have a great factor, making more people use the website.



BBC News

The uses of BBC News is they find what is going in the United Kingdom and all around the world and that is called informative. The website is dynamic as information is updated everyday. The target audiences is for young adults and up who are interested around the world. The features of BBC news is that they have a dynamic website which means customers can interact allowing them to engage with whats happening around the world. Also BBC news : Views can click on the most important news. Time: It shows the time when it was posted.

The website meets the users experience as it show real time news which means user can find out what's happening around that area and also hyperlinks to navigate. It also meets he users requirements by they have social media so if people cannot see on the webpage they can check out on Facebook and on the website you can watch/listen to BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio 5 live which means if users are at work they still can see the news however mainly elderly people will look at the news, so this suggest it is losing rating. BBC allow their users to have an account to they can keep up with today's news and if they have any world news they need to tell them, also BBC news has a link at the bottom of the page saying "About the BBC" and on that page it show how they were made and how the users can help with the BBC. They have a contact link so the users can contact if they have any problems about the BBC.

Strengths
  •  It has images, videos and social media which will allows uses to use different types of multimedia allowing users to see the information 
  • It is very detailed and laid out.
  • It is updated every few hours 
  • It is well laid out with the important topics at the top and less important at the bottom, allowing people to not miss the important information 
  • At the bottom of each news they have where it is happening #
Weaknesses 
  • It is bland so i makes people not look at it as much. 
  • The information is cluttered on each page which is harder for people to read the information.
  • BBC could do with some more colours as this would improve their amount of views they get and make it more attractive, but adding more colours might distract the viewers from the information.

  2. An author must have a vast knowledge of vocabulary. The dictionary of a writer must be full of new English vocabulary to make their work more attractive. The use of new words makes their work more valuable and graceful.
